Hi, my name is Anthony Ramirez. I'm the area manager for San Diego. I served for the United States Army infantry and Scout _______ Group, and I work for New American Funding. My name is Brian Kerenan. I'm the New Port Beach branch manager and I was formally in the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps has a really strong history and tradition of treating everybody like their family. What it taught me was that I had a responsibility for whoever I was working with and they had a responsibility with me and that built trust. I took and I transitioned that same experience into my career now and our team loves working together. We tear, we take care of each other, and we're creating that culture of we're a family. So, somebody had recently asked me what was it like when I got out of the military. I thought it was pretty funny because I had just finished talking to somebody about a month ago in the marines that was thinking about getting out, and it's a lot of scary feelings and thoughts that you're going to be out in public and I'm not going to be able to relate or this and that. I say actually, quite the opposite's true. There's so many things that I learned from the military that was about self discipline, and standard operating procedures, SOPs, chain of command, all these different things about my routine that I had taken for granted in the military that when applied in the civilian world was just an advantage like I didn't understand. The discipline that I learned in the Marine Corps was able to translate over to my civilian job because I learned routine and being held accountable. And then being able to take a team together and hold them accountable. Or working with them, not dictating to them. And having an environment where everyone can grow and actually have a good time and be successful. Number one thing I came to New American was the culture. Relating to the military, it's a fraternity. It's a brotherhood, and so I saw how people interacted at New American, I saw how Patty was, I saw how genuine Rick was, I saw the people and how happy everybody was. The energy was just so good and I saw how everybody related as a family, NAF family. I saw perfect. This is perfect. This is what I want.
